SUPER DECALS SHEET FOR 6 VERSIONS - COLOR INSTRUCTION SHEET
SKILL: 3
The Douglas A-4 Skyhawk was developed in the 1950s and was one of the most famous light attack aircraft in the aviation history. Its small and compact dimensions made it extremely maneuverable and ideal for use on the aircraft carriers. It was characterized by the low-mounted delta wing solution, the two small air intakes on the fuselage sides, and the adoption of the single Pratt & Whitney J52 turbojet engine. It was armed with two 20 mm. guns and, thanks to its hard points under the wings and under the fuselage the Skyhawk was able to support a wide variety of air-to-air missiles, air-to-surface missiles, rockets and bombs. Thanks to its operational capabilities, the A-4 scored a good commercial success and has been adopted by several air forces around the world. In addition to United States, it was used, among others, by Australia, New Zealand, Kuwait and Israel.
The McDonnell-Douglas A-4 Skyhawk is an American ground attack aircraft, the prototype of which was first flown in 1954. During the prototype trials in 1954, it broke the record for horizontal flight speed in its class of aircraft. The A-4 is a single-engine machine with a low-wing structure with a delta wing, which during use was characterized by high durability and resistance to damage, which won the recognition of pilots. Various versions of the A-4 Skyhawk aircraft took part in the Vietnam War, the Middle East conflicts (1967 and 1973) and the Falklands War (1982). They played a decisive role in the 1967 war, serving in the Israeli Air Force. The production ended in 1979, and so far approximately 2,900 combat versions and approximately 600 training versions have been produced. During the service, numerous versions were created, of which the A-4A (the first mass-produced version), A-4F (enhanced electronics), and A-4G (training version) should be replaced. Fixed armament: 2 Browning Mk 12 cannons (20 mm caliber); Suspended equipment (depending on the version) weighing from 3720 kg to 4155 kg. The plane exported, min. to Argentina, Australia, New Zealand and Singapore. Technical data: Top speed: 1075 km / h; climb speed 28-43m / s, practical ceiling 14900m, maximum range: 3305km.
