Grossdeutschland was a designed, but never built, German battleship of the Second World War. It was assumed that the total length of the ship would be 278 meters and a width of 37 meters. The design displacement would be around 56,000 tons, and the maximum speed would be around 30 knots. The deck armament would consist of: 8 405 mm guns placed in four turrets of two guns, 12 150 mm guns or 16 105 mm guns. Grossdeutschland was designed as part of the so-called Plan Z, developed in the late 1930s and assuming the intensive development of the Kriegsmarine, which would then become a more or less equal opponent for the Royal Navy. Grossdeutschland was part of the planned Type H battleship class, and more specifically the H-39. In essence, battleships of this type would be clearly enlarged battleships of the Bismarck type, but in which the main artillery would change, the medium artillery would be strengthened - as well as the armor. However, the unit was never built and has remained only one of the designs.
